A combination of antiretroviral medicines (emtricitabine and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate )that is taken prior to exposure to HIV as a way to prevent getting HIV. Any man who is having sex with men and is not in a monogamous relationship should strongly consider taking PrEP. It can be taken daily in pill form, or every other month by injection. The brand names of PrEP drugs include Truvada. Descovy and Apretude. While PrEP is starting to be someone available over the counter in some US states, it is absolutely criminal why it is not availble in all states over the counter.
